It was a downcast and disappointed Russell Martin who reflected on Rangers’ third consecutive 1-1 draw with Stephen Robinson’s St. Mirren in Paisley on Sunday afternoon.
“It was frustrating – we didn’t start the game very well and we didn’t respond to the situation very well. The second-half was more the way it should look really bit their was anxiety and tension in our attacks.

“There was not enough conviction or energy in the first-half and we weren’t aggressive enough with the ball, and there was a lack of reaction when we had the ball.
“It was a really poor goal to concede – and then we’re chasing the game again.
“We got back into the game in the second-half but didn’t get the win.
“The substitutions helped us – all the guys that came on did their bit for us.”
One substitute that the ‘Gers Manager was full of praise for was goal-scorer Findlay Curtis.
“Findlay has been remarkable although he hasn’t played as much as he probably would like. He has so much care for the club, he wants to score, he wants to take the ball, he’s a really good example to the other lads”.
Martin also explained the non-appearance of Hamza Igamane – an unused substitute when the Ibrox men were crying out for someone of his pace and goal threat.
“I wanted to bring Hamza on after an hour, but he said he had got injured in the warm-up. We turned down a bid for him during week – he hasn’t been fit however, It happens in football. He’s worked very hard to get fit and he may be OK for Wednesday but whilst he’s made it clear what his intension and desire would be, there’s been no problem. He trains properly with the team – but every human being is different. We’ll see what happens in the next ten days.”
