Rangers’ season went from bad to worse on Wednesday night as Aberdeen ended an epic 26 year winless streak at Ibrox with a 2-1 victory over Pedro Caixinha’s side.
Graeme Shinnie got the opening goal before Celtic loanee Ryan Christie found the vital second. Martyn Waghorn finished smartly to pull one back but in the end couldn’t break down a determined Dons defence to equalise.
In a season where Aberdeen finish above Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table, this win was a final insulting blow to the Light Blues.
As you can imagine supporters aren’t happy. Their record against the Dons at Ibrox was a point of pride but the 43 game streak is now at an end.
Caixinha has a huge summer of rebuilding at the club but results like this don’t exactly inspire confidence that he can turn things around.
Supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the result and what it means…
