Leeds United striker Tyler Roberts has taken to Twitter after suffering a shin injury.
The 19-year-old was given a fresh start by the Yorkshire club when he signed from West Bromwich Albion in January.
The attacking player spent the first half of the season on loan at Walsall, but he is yet to make an appearance in Leeds’ senior team.
A statement from the club’s official website claimed that Roberts will face an “extended period” on the sidelines after suffering an injury in training.
The teenager has a small crack on his shin that will require further examination, which is why the Championship outfit cannot yet give a definitive timeline for recovery.
Leeds fans have sent messages of support to the youngster, and now he has spoken to them via Twitter.
Meanwhile, new head coach Paul Heckingbottom had a difficult start to his reign as he oversaw a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United in his first game in charge.
Next up for the Whites is a home clash against Bristol City at Elland Road.
