Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney has sent out an emotional message as he returns to his home in Los Angeles after wildfires wreaked havoc.

Los Angeles has been hit by a natural disaster after out-of-control wildfires consumed the city's suburbs and claimed 28 lives. Mass evacuations had to be undertaken by authorities as the devastating fires swept through densely populated areas in Southern California, including the Hollywood Hills and San Fernando valley. Wrexham co-owner McElhenney and his family were among the many families affected by the wildfires. The 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' star announced on X on January 9 that they had to evacuate their home near Brentwood due to the largest blaze in the area named the Palisades Fire.

Over 10,000 homes have been entirely destroyed, meaning some people have lost everything, while others, like McElhenney, have been able to safely return to their houses. The Wrexham co-owner has now announced that he and his family have returned to their home and conveyed his undying gratitude and respect to those who have made the biggest sacrifices throughout the disaster.

"We are humbled and awed by the messages of love we got from all over the world.
"So many of our friends lost everything and yet, to a person, are carrying on with such strength and resilience.
"We are an incredible species. Thank you all for everything."

The California wildfires continue to rage and while McElhenney's neighbourhood has been declared safe, the authorities and firefighters continue to try and contain the new blazes from spreading further through Southern California.
