Thomas Tuchel has reportedly held talks with Arsenal star Ben White ahead of the new England boss naming his first squad for World Cup qualifying.

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal defender White is one of many England players Tuchel has spoken to ahead of naming his first Three Lions squad in March. The new England boss confirmed his intentions to speak to White back in December and has now been in touch with the Gunners star, although it's not known whether the defender is willing to return to the international fold.

White has not played for England since March 2022 and he left the World Cup in Qatar later that year after falling out with Gareth Southgate's assistant manager Steve Holland. The former Brighton player has made himself unavailable for his country over the past couple of years but perhaps his exile will change with Tuchel taking over.

Tuchel has reportedly spent the first seven weeks of his England tenure working to build up an overview of those he believes are the country's best players. That has involved going to more than 20 live games in England, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

Tuchel's first games in charge of England are against Albania and Latvia at Wembley on March 21 and 24. Fans will have to wait and see if White is included in the squad for those matches.
