Roberto's importance at Barcelona has dwindled in recent years and he was no longer a guaranteed starter in Catalunya. The Catalan club had considered offering the 32-year-old a new contract, however, new manager Hansi Flick has decided that Roberto is not needed and he will now look for a new challenge elsewhere.
WHAT NEXT FOR ROBERTO?
The Spanish midfielder still hasn't announced where he will head off to this summer but may not lack for offers. He has previously been linked with a reunion with Messi at Inter Miami, while Saudi Pro League clubs are also thought to have expressed an interest.
