Neymar has had plenty of time for extra-curricular activities after suffering an ACL injury that's ruled him out for nearly a year, and it seems he's been filling his time by identifying new homes. The Al-Hilal forward is close to buying Japao Private Island, a tropical hideaway located off the port town of Angra dos Reis, according to The Sun.

Neymar reportedly became interested in buying the island after its owner knocked the asking price down by more than £3m. The six-acre hideaway features a main villa with two master suits, three sea-view bungalows and a koi fish pond, and can only be reached by boat or helicopter. One visitor wrote in an online review: "The sweeping views of the ocean and the mystical landscape of the island make this an incredibly special place to find some solitude."

Neymar plans to rent the island at a cost of more than £40,000 later this month in a 'test drive', according to Brazilian journalist Leo Dias. The 32-year-old's ex Bruna Marquezine is among those to have stayed on the island in the past.
