According to in a departure from tradition, incoming England manager Tuchel has received approval from the Football Association (FA) to work remotely for part of each week, allowing him to spend time at home in Munich. Although he has committed to residing in England for the majority of his tenure, the FA has given the 51-year-old former Chelsea boss flexibility in his work arrangements as he prepares to take on one of the most scrutinised roles in international football. Hence, he will not be required to attend daily meetings at the England training headquarters, St George’s Park in Burton upon Trent.

The flexibility granted to Tuchel marks a shift from the working style of his predecessor, Gareth Southgate, who took a more hands-on approach during his eight-year tenure with the national team. The erstwhile manager spent at least three days a week at the football centre in Burton and urged similar attendance levels among his backroom staff, which included age-group coaches, analysts, and operations staff. Together, Southgate and his assistant, Steve Holland, attended an average of five Premier League matches each week, demonstrating their commitment to keeping a close watch on emerging English talent. While Tuchel will also hold meetings with junior coaches and other FA departments, he is expected to adopt a more flexible attendance routine than Southgate.

I will be in England most of the time."
