The Brazil international was heavily linked with a move to the Middle East during the summer of 2024, as big-spending clubs in that part of the world set their sights on another marquee addition. No deal was done as Vinicius has a €1 billion (£832m/$1.1bn) release clause in his contract.

While no club is prepared to meet that asking price, it is being suggested that Vinicius could earn that figure over the course of a five-year contract if he were to move to the Saudi Pro League. It is also being claimed that Real could generate a fee between €400-500m (£333-416m/$422-528m).
