Former Rangers defender Marvin Andrews believes a Ryan Kent return would be massive for the club this summer, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
What’s he said?
After the capture of Sheyi Ojo on loan for the season, alongside moves for Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has already added serious attacking talent to his squad for next term.
Andrews though reckons there is one missing piece of the puzzle and it comes in the form of one of last season’s best players at Ibrox – Ryan Kent.
Football Insider reported on Tuesday that the club are still working on another loan deal for the 22-year-old and the former Gers defender thinks Ibrox is a great place for him to continue to develop as a winger.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, Andrews said:
“Getting Ryan back would be massive, he was a very important player for Rangers last season.
He is an exciting player, once he gets on the ball he makes things happen and he is always a threat going at defenders.
He is the type of player who puts you on the edge of your seat when he picks up the ball. He delivers from an attacking position and it will be important for Rangers to get him back.
People forget he is still young and he is still learning the game, but Rangers is a great platform for him to become a better player.”
Do Rangers need him?
As mentioned, there are already plenty of wingers at Rangers and Steven Gerrard has clearly seen bolstering the flanks as a real priority ahead of 2019/20.
Kent though has that dynamite spark that really sets him apart from other members of the Gers squad, consistently providing the kind of attacking urgency that helped Rangers break down opposition defences last season.
With six goals and nine assists during the loan spell, his direct goal output has room to grow, but with visible improvement in his game from signing last summer to the end of the season, it’d be expected he could do that if he signs up for another campaign.
If the deal is there, Andrews is right, it’s important that the club get it done.
